London fashion week is over and now it’s time to enjoy the London fashion weekend.
I bought a silver thicket for the event and enjoyed a trend catwalk which was very inspiring. Laura Jackson introduced the 4 trends for S/S 2016: Beautiful Botanicals, Americana, Pop artist brights and New Romance. The first one is a classic for spring-summer collection, each year new floral motifs are presented by different designers; Americana is a little bit more eccentric and remained me of the 90’s, stars and stripes are combined together and appear in different scales and extremely bright colors (of course denim is at the core for this U.S.A centered trend). As for the Pop artists’ trend, bright color are presented in different combinations, a lot of color-block dresses wear with contrasting accessories (mini-bags and high heels). Finally, New Romance, another classic which focus the attention on light fabrics, transparent chiffon, lace, tulle and silk in pastel shades. Pink and fringes appear as well, combined together to create sophisticate and feminine looks.
The event was good to have an insight into the new trend for the season but also to see what buyers and fashion lovers wear. A lot of different people (including foreigners) attended the event so I was able to collect information about different style. Here are some pictures of the catwalk and some stands.
